Egy sajnálatos baleset során Alvin leteríti barátjukat és producerüket, Davidet, így a trió kénytelen Dave unokatestvéréhez, Tobyhoz költözni, akinek kissé mások a nevelési elvei: a három kis barát kénytelen beiratkozni a helyi iskolába. A suli azonban csupa új veszélyt jelent: a rocksztárok kénytelenek szembenézni a lecke meg a sport kihívásaival, majd megküzdeni a legnagyobb problémával - a lányokkal. A színen ugyanis feltűnik egy három csinos mókuslányból álló együttes - a trió korábbi, gonosz menedzsere belőlük akar sikercsapatot faragni. Még szerencse, hogy előbb-utóbb az ellenfelek rájönnek: mindig jobb együtt zenélni, mint külön!
