Asterix és jó barátja, Obelix az ókori olimpiai játékokra mennek, hogy megküzdjenek a rómaiakkal. Mindezt azért teszik, mert a gall Alafolix herceg szerelmes lesz a gyönyörű görög hercegnőbe, és elkél neki a segítség, hogy felkészülhessen az Olimpiai megmérettetésekre. Csakhogy ugyanebbe a hercegnőbe szerelmes Cézár fia, Brutus is. Kettőjük között olyan versengés alakul ki, amely nem feltétlen a fair-play elemeit hordozza magában. Vajon ki nyeri el végül a hercegnő kezét?
