Ben a világ legpechesebb kincsvadásza. A felesége, Tess belefáradt, hogy a férje házasságuk nyolc éve alatt sikertelenül hajszolta a Királynő Hozományaként elhíresült kincset, amely 1715 óta a tenger fenekén hever. A férjével és az álomkergetéssel való szakítás után Tess fedélzetmester lesz egy luxusjachton. Ugyanekkor Ben biztos nyomra bukkan. Jobb híján fellopódzik exneje új munkahelyére és megpróbálja rávenni Nigel Honeycutt-tot, az unatkozó iparmágnást, hogy együtt induljanak kincsvadászatra. Azt azonban nem köti az orrára, hogy nemcsak ők pályáznak a kincsre.
