Büszkén és boldogan feszít a Learner család a kisfiúk, Josh hangversenyén. Hazafelé menet betérnek a Reservation Roadon lévő benzinkút melletti pihenőbe. Ugyancsak hazafelé tart ezen az úton a jogász Dwight a fiával, Lucasszal. Baseballmeccsen voltak és most Dwight vissza akarja vinni a fiát a volt feleségéhez. A baleset pillanatok alatt következik be. Dwight pánikba esik és elhajt, bár egy szemtanú meglátja őket. A baleset résztvevői más és más módon élik meg a tragédiát, miközben a nyomozás is megkezdődik. Mindkét apa fájdalmas döntésre kényszerül.

A bűnözői pályára lépők közül keveseknek adatik meg a visszavonulás lehetősége, főleg olyan mennyiségű pénzzel, amelyre egész hátralévő életüket alapozhatják. John (Val Kilmer – Szemtől szemben, Dr. Moreau szigete, Top Gun) viszont belenyúl a tutiba, amikor megszerez egy aktatáskát, melynek tartalma egyesek számára igencsak sokat ér.

Az őt üldöző rendőrök és gengszterek elől menekülve egy parkban rejtőzik el, ahol azonban egy egyedül lévő kisfiú ráébreszti arra, hogy mielőtt lelépne a napfényes Floridába, rendeznie kell kapcsolatát a lányával, és ki kell békülnie volt feleségével (Marg Helgenberger – CSI: A helyszínelők).

Csakhogy erre mindössze pár órája van, különben könnyen előfordulhat, hogy a pénz helyett csak a testébe fúródó golyókat számolhatja meg.

Az utolsó meló izgalmas, fordulatokban gazdag film, remek színészi alakításokkal.

Roger Ferris CIA-ügynök céltudatos és bátor ember, nem fél senkitől és semmitől. Életét a jó ügyért folytatott harcra tette fel. Franciország német megszállásának első évében Shosanna Dreyfus családját a lány szeme láttára végzi ki Hans Landa náci ezredes. A később "Brigantyk" néven elhíresülő osztag csatlakozik Bridget Von Hammersmark német színésznőhöz és titkosügynökhöz egy akcióban, melynek célja a Harmadik birodalom vezetőinek kiiktatása. Hőseink sorsa egy mozi bejáratánál fut össze, ahol Shosanna a saját bosszútervét készül végrehajtani.
